Business rendezvous: Franco-Portuguese speed-dating

Le 28 january 2010

Business rendezvous: Franco-Portuguese speed-datingFor the 4th consecutive year, the Porto delegation from the Franco-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry is organising, on 3 and 4 May 2010, an industrial cooperation marketplace where French ordering parties can hold individual interviews with Portuguese subcontractors or suppliers from their sector of activity (mechanics, wood, textiles, ceramics, plastics, moulding, public works and constructions).
Every ordering party will benefit from a personalised mission during which each potential partner selected will get to know the former’s needs. In other words, a made-to-measure initiative is available for every French company. The intervention of the bilateral Chamber in the framework of this partner search is totally free of charge for French ordering parties (they need only cover travel and accommodation costs). These interviews are preceded by a one-day seminar on legal aspects of Franco-Portuguese industrial cooperation and company testimonies.
With salary expenses that are still very interesting compared with the French market, and a labour force known for its flexibility and adaptability, Portugal remains a choice partner for industrial cooperation. In addition, its geographic and cultural proximity makes it a market coveted by French industrialists for this type of operation, ahead of more distant, less culturally similar countries. At the same time, Portuguese companies are actively seeking new partners. France is one of their leading target markets.
It was thanks to this double observation that was born the idea for this event, whose three previous editions have been crowned with success for since 2002, almost 300 business rendezvous have been organised between French and Portuguese companies.
