As for the “Best Networking Project”, this title was taken out by the Greater Manchester Chamber, for its partnership with the Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka, vying to boost the region’s economy after the tsunami in 2004. The Torino Chamber of Commerce won the category of “Best International Project” for its project “From Concept to Car”, aimed at promoting export for local automobile suppliers. In the category of “Best Small Business Project”, it was the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce that stood out, thanks to the success of its vocational programme in Madagascar. Finally, the special prize for the best project from a Chamber in a developing country went to the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, for the creation of the Izmir University of Economics.
