End of the crisis: mid-2010
Le 3 june 2009
Members of the Global Chamber Platform (GCP) are less pessimistic than the World Bank on GDP growth forecasts for their respective regions, according to a study carried out amongst major national and trans-national organisms of Chambers of Commerce. Latin America, Russia, China, the Mediterranean and the South Pacific are amongst the most optimistic regions. Europe, the United States, Gulf countries and Africa are somewhat reserved. While GCP members recognise that the crisis will result in a rise in unemployment and a drop in SME exports, they are betting on a recovery by mid-2010. The GCP has announced the joining of a new member: the Economic Cooperation Organisation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ECO-CCI), representing Chambers from Turkey and Central Asia.
