Towards a pan-European approach to commercial law

The European Union is a patchwork of jurisdictions – notably in the field of commerce – whose diversity generates a real need for harmonisation. To evaluate this aspiration and suggest relevant avenues of research, the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Law Research Centre (CREDA) ­recently carried out a study focusing on commercial judges and those involved in legal disputes. Below, we present a summary of proposals for the harmonisation of commercial law at the pan-European level.
