Business services: moving forward together
In the field of IT services, as in everything else it does, Astek concentrates on satisfying client expectations, from defining needs to delivering results. Businesses concerned with productivity and innovation expect technical competence as a given, but what they are really looking for in terms of differentiation is a partner capable of understanding their environment and anticipating market developments and technological progress. Having rapidly conquered a position as one of the leading players in the French IT services industry, Astek is able to provide a wide range of services to an ever-more demanding clientele. Offering expert services in facilities management, software engineering, embedded software and electronics, Astek focuses on being as close as possible to the core businesses of its clients.
“The technical knowledge of our consultants must be as deep as their ability to understand and appropriate the expertise of our clients is strong,” says Managing Director, Jean-Luc Bernard, who founded the company in 1988. True to the same tenets, Astek’s highly selective recruitment process is based on an analysis of both the functional skills and knowledge and technical competence of hopeful candidates. Amongst the group’s clients are to be found such prestigious firms as SNCF, Air France, Société Générale and France Télécom. Armed with ISO 9001 Version 2000 and CMMI Level 3 certification, Astek was last year awarded the contract to manage the archiving of the Toulouse-based CNES space programme’s technical documentation.
Innovation, reactivity, empathy
Innovation, reactivity and openness have been the keywords of Astek’s credo since the company was first set up. By listening to client needs and employing a decidedly proactive approach, Astek is able to create solutions to specific client problems in a very short space of time. Always willing to go that extra mile, Astek was able to anticipate demand for offshore solutions by setting up a subsidiary in Mauritius in 2003, a decision very much in line with its emphasis on outsourcing. The group is set to follow the creation of this subsidiary, which employs 50 staff, with other offshore projects during the course of this year. Indeed, for Astek, 2006 has a resolutely international air: in the coming months, subsidiaries are due to be opened in Belgium, Switzerland, Poland and Mexico.
