CEO of Playmobil Malta, President of the island’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President of the National Council of Women of Malta, Member of the Board of Governors of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology… Helga Ellul is a very busy woman. But she still finds time for her family and favourite leisure activities: poetry and golf. Her recipe for success? “A supportive husband. I am always obsessed with my professional activities.” Born in Germany, Helga Ellul began her career in the company George Branstätter far before it began selling its famous plastic figurines. A perfect mentor, Branstätter transmitted to her a love for enterprise. In 1974, Playmobil was born and she decided to join the production factory relocated to Malta. Very quickly, she rose to the top of the Maltese network. Today, with over 800 employees, she is the country’s third largest employer. In 1993, Helga Ellul received the Maltese National Order of Merit for her economic skills. An unheard of distinction for a non-Maltese native!
