Putting health first…

A company specialised in consultancy for the development of health and social protection systems, Kadris Consultants has succeeded in developing on three continents. In 2006, it was awarded the Gazelle de l’Économie Française label which recognises the 2,000 fastest growing SMEs.

When the France Télécom group created, in 2000, Almerys, its subsidiary specialised in the health sector, this creation was accompanied by Franck Droin and Laurent Grouas, both collaborators of the KPMG Peat Marwick group.
Having accumulated experience in the health sector, the two men decided to found, several months later, Kadris Consultants, a company specialised in consultancy for the development of health and social protection solutions. Kadris is active in three main fields: health and contingency (private health insurance, retirement funds, insurance companies, federations, contingency coverage…); savings and retirement (idem); health and social welfare (hospitals, clinics, health centres and networks, local and territorial authorities…).
“The activities that we carry out are extremely diverse, so the multidisciplinary backgrounds and expertise of the Kadris teams are a decided advantage,” underlines Laurent Grouas, Vice President of Kadris who employs insurance professionals as well as medical practitioners. “We offer a health professional approach to our clients and a strategic approach to payment-making institutions”. Previous activities of consultants include constructing a strategic three-year plan for a private health fund, renovating the range of services available in the private health insurance offered to civil servants, accompanying contingency-coverage organisms in their exploration of the European market, putting in place the budget-piloting procedure of a national social security fund, defining the strategic positioning of a company with regard to complementary health insurance or else optimising tariffs practised in a university hospital centre…
Within the space of a few years, Kadris has managed to develop in several countries (Belgium, Canada, France, Morocco, Russia) and seen its turnover soar upwards. This success has not gone unnoticed as the company received, three years ago, the 2005 Gazelle label from the French Ministry for SMEs, Trade, Craft Industries, Services and Professions. “Our objective is clear-cut: to create an international network dedicated to the health sector”, explains Franck Droin, President of Kadris. A revealing example shows that this ambition is definitely within the company’s grasp: during the introduction of compulsory sickness insurance three years ago in Morocco, Kadris accompanied three public bodies in the country.
In Morocco, Kadris is in charge of the internal and external organisation of CNOPS (National Fund for Social Welfare Organisms), and assists the ANAM (National Sickness Insurance Agency) to promote generic medication that still meets with some obstacles in this country, in addition to establishing its three-year strategic plan (2009-2012). Kadris, via its subsidiary specialised in evaluations, Cap Eval, has also put in place a monitoring centre within the ANAM for scrutinising access to treatment in Morocco.
“Our main asset is our capacity to integrate the whole of the health sector chain, from the entrance of the patient in the health system to the payment of benefits,” states Laurent Grouas. Kadris is moreover an expert consulted by large international organisations such as the European Commission (several projects financed by the European Commission are currently piloted by Kadris), the nternational Labor Office (on the theme of health in the workplace) or UNAIDS.
Finally, Kadris organises several conferences every year in the countries where it is present, inviting prestigious players in the sector to share their experiences on themes as wide-ranging as patient information, addiction prevention and the use of psychoactive drugs in the workplace.
